Game of Eternity
A popular card game for the past century, easy rules, fun for everyone. The trendiest versions in the Central Plains are themed to the four seasons, as well as popular storybooks 'the Swordsman in Black' and 'the Summoner in Blue'. As one strolls through a town, it is not hard to see groups playing the game. Little wonder it is called one of the three enjoyments in life, along with flower watching and tea drinking.
Game of Eternity is a card game inside the actual game of Swords of Legends Online, and is considered leisure activity. A very similar game can be found in GuJian3 under the name of Lost Tales.
The idea of the game is first draw cards and then match them with ones in the middle of the board. You can add your own rare cards into the deck you are playing with. By defeating new opponents both NPCs and other players, you can collect rare card.
Rare cards[edit | edit source]
Rare cards are collectible for the Game of Eternity.
There are currently 44 available rare cards.
Every Rare card has a special effect when used in a play, such as: "Deactives all of the opponent's rare card skills" and "Reveals two of your opponent's cards at random"
Gold Cards[edit | edit source]
Gold cards are collectible from the Game of Eternity.
Golden cards are upgraded versions of rare cards, and they are harder to acquire than Rare cards.
How to play[edit | edit source]
Before you can start playing the Game of Eternity, you must complete a tutorial. The tutorial then can be started inside the Cultivation interface.
To challenge NPCs or other players, you have to first target them manually with your mouse, and then use ability Play A Round. This will trigger a conversation interface where you can choose to begin the game.
If your target is an NPC, there can be three different difficulty settings: Beginner, Normal, Hard. Indicators for each is different. Golden cards next to NPCs name means hard, blue normal, bronze basic difficulty.
If player attempts to challenge an NPC without card images in front of their name, they will be unable to do so and instead trigger a message "The Game of Eternity cannot be played with the specified target".
You can also find objects you can duel with, such as Workbench and Dragonstars.
Mechanics[edit | edit source]
The figure above, from GuJian3, shows some basic elements of the game screen.
- Cards come in four types (colors): Spring (green), Summer (red), Autumn (yellow) and Winter (blue).
- During your turn, cards of the same season (or color), one from your hand and one from the table, must be paired so that both are sent to your pile.
- In your pile, the cards are scored individually (basic card points) and by setting up combinations with other cards (combination points).
- When a card goes into your pile, it can participate in future combinations.
- Cards of the same color will not necessarily generate combination points.
- If there are no cards on the table that can be paired with any of the cards in your hand, one card from the hand must be sent to the table (discard), and a new card will be received.
- Card changes: On your turn you can choose to exchange a card from your hand for one of 3 random cards, from the table pile, shown to the player.
- This action can be started more than once per turn, without choosing the new card. Once the new card is chosen, this action can only be performed again on the next turn.
- The type of card chosen to make the exchange is important (person, place, object), as only cards of that same type will be randomly displayed for the exchange.
- Although it is possible to initiate this action more than once per turn, only 12 card changes can be initiated in the entire game.
- If card exchange is initiated but no cards are chosen, one of the 12 attempts will be consumed.
- Rare Cards: At the start of the game, 15 rare cards must be chosen, without repeating the original character. Every time a card goes into your hand, or directly into your pile, it will be transformed into the version chosen in the pre-game, guaranteeing its ability. Rare cards have certain abilities attached to them that can increase the chances of forming a combo or the values of certain cards/combos.
- Rare cards have higher basic card points then basic cards, and gives more combination points when combined.
